DAVID CRONENBERG - CHROMOSOMES MINIATURES IN TURIN
Chromosomes Miniatures is a smaller version of the painting exhibit in Rome, downsized to a 20x25 cm. format. Some frames are recognizable icons from his cinema: the exploding head; the mutant arm with a gun; the arcane gynaecological instruments; the telepods; or the hand sensuously caressing the chassis of a car. Others come from the director's more personal imagination: the relationship between the human body and technology; nature and genetic modifications; the aesthetics of videogames and virtual reality as the antithesis of science.Conceived for the opening of the King Kong Microplex, a 50-seat multimedia theatre in the centre of the city.
